Caverion Germany has entered into an agreement to acquire the building automation company WISAG Automatisierungstechnik GmbH & Co. KG (WAT) from WISAG Group. WAT has an annual turnover of approximately EUR 27 million and around 170 employees in seven locations across Germany. The acquisition is the largest acquisition to date for Caverion Germany.
WAT specialises in planning, installing and maintaining building automation, ranging from building management systems and energy management to 24/7 on-call services.
With this acquisition Caverion Germany is further strengthening its growth strategy. Building automation is a strategic growth area for Assemblin Caverion as demand for energy efficiency, decarbonisation and data-driven building operations increases, as is the need to modernise the existing building stock.
"Building automation plays a key role in determining how efficiently and sustainably a building operates. Ease of use and a strong service team are essential for customers. With the acquisition of WISAG Automatisierungstechnik, we are gaining an experienced team with in-house product expertise, and many years of experience in the market. We are delighted to have the team on board and to warmly welcome our new colleagues", comments Manfred Simmet, CEO, Germany and Austria, EVP.
"Our customers and business partners can continue to rely on their usual points of contact. In Caverion, we have not only found owners with proven technical expertise, but also a company that will focus on building automation as a strategic growth area in the long term", says Jörg Friese, Head of WISAG Automatisierungstechnik.
The transaction is expected to be completed at the end of the year. The completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approval by the German Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt).
