Exilion is one of the largest wind energy producers in Finland, with 15 wind farms across the country. It is critical for the company to ensure the operational reliability, safety and efficient production of the power plants in all conditions. Caverion has been Exilion's long-term partner in the maintenance of wind farms.
Challenges
- Exilion was looking for a modern and comprehensive maintenance partner with whom to develop the operation and maintenance of the wind farm to suit today's electricity market environment
- The variable availability of spare parts created challenges. Some parts have been completely discontinued over the years, so finding a solution-oriented and investigative service partner was topical
Comprehensive know-how for a demanding environment

Due to the significant increase in the usability of the first partnership site, the partnership with Exilion also expanded to the second site. As a service partner familiar with the electricity market, we are able to provide our customer with a transparent way of providing maintenance service, which is a distinguishing factor in our industry. The maintenance system in the customer relationship is CFlow and the comprehensive customer views of the site are built on the SmartView platform. As a solution to the availability of spare parts, Caverion's reliability service team has researched and found replacement equipment and parts. At the same time, a criticality rating has been created for spare parts, which, combined with the availability mapping of the part, forms the whole of warehouse management and improves continuity management.
At the same time, the launch of the service has acted as a bundle of our group's internal functions, combining our company's many different functions. We cooperate continuously with the reliability service team, locking solutions have been renewed and modernized for the sites, our mechanical workshop has manufactured components for the wind turbines and our special maintenance unit performs the maintenance and servicing of safety equipment. We also bring our extensive partner network with us to help the customer.
In cooperation with Exilion, operations have been actively developed and everyday life in wind farms has been examined from a new perspective. The aim is to ensure the best possible energy production. As the importance of wind power grows in Finland, the role of a reliable partner is emphasized.
